Katherine Gottleib
Originally from Newtown, Connecticut, Dr. Katherine ("Katie") Gottleib earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Atlantic Veterinary College on Prince Edward Island. Following veterinary school, she completed advanced internships at Fairfield Equine Associates, New Bolton Center, and Iowa State University before completing a Large Animal Surgery Residency and earning a Master's degree at Virginia Tech. During her training, Dr. Gottleib received recognition for her leadership, surgical skills, and research and has contributed to multiple scientific publications. Before joining South Shore Equine Clinic, she spent a year practicing emergency surgery and critical care in Aiken, South Carolina. Dr. Gottleib is excited to bring advanced surgical care to horses throughout Eastern Massachusetts and the surrounding region. She is passionate about collaborating with both horse owners and referring veterinarians to provide thoughtful case management, surgical consultation, and exceptional patient care. Professional interests include orthopedic surgery, soft tissue surgery, emergency surgery, surgical consultations, lameness evaluation, advanced imaging interpretation, critical care, and small ruminant emergency surgery. Outside of the hospital, Dr. Gottleib is a lifelong equestrian and event rider. She enjoys spending time at the beach with her dog, Juniper, relaxing at home with her cat, Squishmallow, and reading.
