About the Position:
This unique position combines client communication with inventory and pharmacy responsibilities. You will play a key role in ensuring seamless client experiences while also managing critical inventory and medication supplies to support our veterinary team.
Client Service Duties:
- Manage client communications via phone, email, and text.
- Schedule appointments with accuracy and efficiency.
- Provide exceptional customer service and client education.
- Process payments, discuss balances, and handle invoicing.
- Organize and maintain client records and documentation.
- Support the overall organization and function of the front office.
Inventory & Pharmacy Support:
- Assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking veterinary supplies and medications.
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels.
- Prepare prescriptions and ensure compliance with veterinary regulations.
- Maintain proper labeling, documentation, and storage of medications.
- Assist veterinarians and technicians with pharmacy-related needs.
Who We’re Looking For:
- A mature, detail-oriented professional with prior customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
- An equestrian with a minimum of 5 years of horse experience with professional references within the equine community.
- Someone with basic knowledge of equine health and terminology.
- A team player who thrives in a collaborative, high-energy workplace.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Proficiency in computer systems, tablets, and cloud-based software.
- Ability to work 1-2 Saturdays per month (7:45 AM – 1:00 PM).

Full-Time Equine Veterinary Technician – APPLY NOW!
About the Position:
The Full Time Equine Veterinary Technician position is an ambulatory based position. The EVT is a skilled Veterinary Technician, with a background in equine medical knowledge and experience handling horses. Under the supervision of a DVM, the EVT will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of urgent and routine equine medical events in the clinic and at local farms, care for hospitalized patients, process laboratory testing, and assist with facility maintenance as needed.

The Ideal Candidate:
- Excellent horse handling skills with 5+ years of experience working in a barn (including loading onto trailers) are required
- A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet
- You possess the ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
- Proficiency with computers, tablets, and cloud base data recording systems
- Must be able to lift 50lbs
- Must possess a valid MA driver’s license and dependable transportation
Anticipated Schedule:
- The first 30-60 days will have a varied schedule for training purposes, then the work schedule will be four days per week with a shared rotation of weekends on-call

Part-Time Temporary Horse Handler & Hospital Stable Assistant – APPLY NOW!
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 5:30 PM (Potential for additional weekend hours periodically)
South Shore Equine Clinic is seeking a mature and responsible Horse Handler & Hospital Stable Assistant to join our team in a part-time, temporary capacity. This role has the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of ten years of horse handling experience
- Strong, solid professional equine references required
- Must be comfortable handling horses of all temperaments, including young or difficult horses and foals
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced veterinary hospital setting
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions from veterinarians and staff
- Capable of performing physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
Duties & Responsibilities (as needed, not daily):
Daily Horse Care & Handling:
- Feeding horses according to individualized dietary needs (grain, hay, supplements)
- Ensuring fresh, clean water is always available
- Turning horses out to paddocks and bringing them back into stalls
- Grooming (brushing, picking hooves, checking for injuries)
- Handling and leading horses safely, including those requiring special care
Stable & Facility Maintenance:
- Mucking out stalls and replacing bedding
- Daily paddock cleaning
- Dragging and maintaining arena footing
- Sweeping aisles, cleaning feed buckets, and maintaining a clean barn environment
- Repairing fences, stalls, and gates as needed
Health & Veterinary Assistance:
- Monitoring horses for signs of illness, lameness, or injury
- Administering medications or treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Assisting with veterinary procedures when necessary
Additional Farm Duties:
- Lunging or hand-walking horses as needed
- Operating farm equipment such as tractors for feeding or manure removal
- Engaging professionally with clients, staff, veterinary students, and visitors
