Customer Service Representative – Part Time

About the Position:

Premier South Shore Massachusetts Equine Veterinary Practice is looking for Part Time talented communicators to work with our diverse clients and skilled physicians.

Job Description:

  • Answer multi-line phone, texts, faxes, and emails
  • Schedule appointments with accuracy and promptness
  • Provide exceptional customer service
  • Utilize Practice Management software to log all correspondence
  • Interact with clients in person, via phone, email, and texting
  • Process payments on accounts, email invoices, and receipts
  • Prepare estimates as instructed by DVM
  • Process and scan paperwork into records
  • Prepare postal correspondence
  • Maintain office building (keep tidy, restock brochures, in-house)
  • Other duties as assigned by Veterinarians or Practice Manager

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Must have prior business environment experience
  • Must be dependable
  • Must be comfortable in stressful situations and possess excellent communication skills
  • Must be able to work Saturdays 8:00AM – 1:00PM
  • Must be familiar with horse terminology and have some horse experience
  • Have great telephone skills
  • A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet
  • Have the ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and cloud base data recording systems

Anticipated Schedule:

  •        Wednesday & Friday shifts 1PM – 5PM and every other Saturday 7:45AM- 1PM

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary is commensurate with experience ($16-$20/hour)

Certified Veterinary Technician – Part Time

Are you a certified veterinary technician with a solid foundation in horsemanship, looking to take your career to the next level? If so, South Shore Equine Clinic & Diagnostic Center has a unique and exciting opportunity for you!

About the Position:

The Equine Emergency Veterinary Technician is a skilled, Certified Veterinary Technician, with a strong background in equine medical knowledge and experience handling horses. Under the supervision of a DVM, the EVT will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of urgent and routine equine medical events in the field and/or at the clinic. Under the instructions of the DVM, the EVT will provide specific diagnostic modalities and treatment to the patient, and/or assist in stabilization and/or transporting the patient to the equine hospital. This may require the use of digital x-rays, ultrasound, and other imaging to assist in a diagnosis. The EVT may administer injectable medications and provide other treatments needed, such as IV catheter placement, IV fluid administration, NG intubation, wound cleansing, application of eye medications, and stabilization of orthopedic injuries. In addition, the ideal candidate will also be capable of running routine laboratory diagnostics including CBC, Chemistry profiles, stable side/handheld tests, parasitology, microbiology, and cytology submissions.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • You are a Certified Veterinary Technician in the state of MA, or you are able to transfer your credentials from another state within 90 days of start.
  • Excellent horse handling skills and experience (including loading onto trailers) are required.
  • A team player, you enjoy a fast-paced environment and can think critically on your feet
  • You possess the ability to remain composed in stressful and emotional situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Motivated, dependable individual with a strong work ethic and a love for horses
  • Proficiency with computers, tablets, and cloud base data recording systems
  • Must be able to lift 50lbs
  • Must possess a valid MA driver’s license and dependable transportation

Anticipated Schedule:

  • Full-time and Pat-time positions available
    • Position #1: Sunday 3PM-9PM, Monday 12PM-9PM, & Friday 3PM-9PM
    • Position #2: Tuesday 3PM-9PM, Wednesday 3PM-9PM, Thursday 3PM-9PM
  • Weekend and after-hours availability is required
  • Our Clinic provides 24 hours a day, 7 day a week, 365 days a year!
