Meaghan Doherty, B.S., C.V.T. -Certified Veterinary Technician
Meaghan Doherty a Norwell/MA native grew up riding horses and competing in local shows. In 2003 she graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with at B.S. in Animal Science. At U. Mass she focused her studies in pre-veterinary Medicine, farm management and reproduction. Post college, she managed a grand prix level hunter/jumper barn and a C.E.M. quarantine facility in RI. After working in RI for a change of pace, but still following her passion of working with animals, she worked at Angell Memorial Animal Center in the Critical Care Unit as a small animal nurse. In March of 2010, Meaghan passed her exams and is now a Certified Veterinary Technician.
Meaghan's love of horses brought her to South Shore Equine Clinic. As a veterinary assistant her primary responsibilities include assisting the doctors with procedures, caring for hospitalized patients, and performing routine laboratory tests. Additionally, she is involved in the surgery aspect of the practice, assisting in surgery preparation and anesthesia.
In her spare time she enjoys riding her thoroughbred, Blaze, spending time with her friends and family, and going camping with her Westie, Ace, and boyfriend Seth.
