Kirsten Parks : Veterinary Assistant & Farm Superintendent
Kirsten Parks, a New England native, discovered her passion for horses while attending the University of Massachusetts in Amherst. She graduated in 1988 with a degree in Animal Science/Equine Management. She then spent the next 8 years working in various aspects of the horse industry such as artificial insemination, semen transport, boarding, thoroughbred lay-ups, and management. Kirsten took a break from the industry to fulfill a life long dream of serving her country. She joined the United States Army in 1996 and served 9 years as a communications specialist at Ft. Campbell KY and 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). She then went to work for the USDA as an Animal Health Technician for the state of Tennessee. Her roots have finally pulled her back to her home state where she currently resides in Hyannis. While Kirsten does not have any horses of her own, she thoroughly enjoys being part of a team that dedicates itself to the health and welfare of these majestic animals.
When not tending to her duties at South Shore Equine Clinic, Kirsten can be found on the ice playing for any team in need of a goaltender. She is an avid Red Sox and New England Patriots fan, but her love for the Boston Bruins is surpassed only by her love of God and family.
