Kelly L. Kalf , D.V.M. Diplomate ACVIM
Kelly L. Kalf , D.V.M., DACVIM is originally from Cumberland, RI. She graduated from the University of Kentucky with a B.S. in Animal Science in 2000. While in KY, Dr. Kalf worked as a veterinary technician and ICU supervisor at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington. From there, after deciding to pursue a career in equine veterinary medicine, she attended veterinary school at Tuskegee University in Tuskegee, AL. After obtaining her DVM degree in 2005, Dr. Kalf went on to perform a one year rotating medical, surgical, and anesthesia internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital. In order to further her education and become specialized, she then went on to do a three year residency at the University of Pennsylvania's New Bolton Center in Kennett Square, PA. After successful completion of the residency program and passing her specialty boards, she was granted Diplomate status by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine in 2009. Dr.Kalf was employed for an additional year following her residency as a Lecturer in Medicine at the New Bolton Center. Although Dr. Kalf enjoys all aspects of internal medicine, some of her stronger interests include gastroenterology, neonatology, neurology, and ophthalmology.
 Dr. Kalf joined South Shore Equine Clinic in 2010 and is excited to be back in the northeast, where it will be much easier to maintain her loyalty to the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots! As for basketball, she remains an avid fan of the Kentucky Wildcats. Her other interests include exercising, going to the beach, shopping, and spending time with her golden retriever, Duke.
